At Golden Ridge German Shepherds, crate training begins before our puppies ever leave for their new homes.
Starting at just 6 weeks of age, each puppy is introduced to an individual crate using positive experiences, food rewards, and appropriate rest periods. Early crate exposure helps puppies build confidence, develop independence, and transition more smoothly into their new families.
Our goal isn’t simply to produce beautiful German Shepherds—it’s to send home puppies that already have a strong foundation for success.
In this video, you’ll see:
🐾 Early crate introduction
🐾 Positive reinforcement techniques
🐾 Puppies learning to settle independently
🐾 Building confidence through routine and structure
Excuse the cloudy moments in the video… a curious puppy couldn’t resist giving the camera lens a few kisses! 🐶❤️
Before this puppies were given access to snuggle and play with their crates left open every night. Very often spending time with littermates at their own freewill inside crates already.
